Finally

I finally fixed an issue that I had when halting or rebooting.

The problem was that after running emerge -uDN world, I did not run these commands afterward:

  • etc-update
  • revdep-rebuild

Running those commands fixed it. I need to remember that…

Now to fix that ALSA problem

WordPress 2.9.1

I have upgraded to WordPress 2.9.1.

This release addresses a handful of minor issues as well as a rather annoying problem where scheduled posts and pingbacks are not processed correctly due to incompatibilities with some hosts.

Is that what happened to one of my recent posts?

Worm Affecting WordPress 2.8.2 and Earlier

Wordpress.org Warns of Active Worm Hacking Blogs at Slashdot

How to Keep WordPress Secure at WordPress Development Blog

There is a worm affecting WordPress versions 2.8.2 and earlier. Versions 2.8.3 and 2.8.4 (and apparently WordPress.com) are immune. It crawls for vulnerable installations and then wreaks havoc (e.g., installing malware, deleting content).

I am running WordPress 2.8.4, therefore this blog is safe. ^^

WordPress 2.8.4, Yet Another New Web Host

I have moved wlair.us.to to another new Web host, this time HelioHost. With 000webhost, I could not upgrade WordPress, plugins, or themes automatically.

Also, I have finally upgraded to WordPress 2.8.4, 6 days after its release. Due to my inability to upgrade automatically, I ended up skipping WordPress 2.8.1–2.8.3. I also had 7 plugins that I needed to upgrade.

At least I can blog again… :D
